Inducted February 1979
With her induction tonight, Georgene Bihlma brings a new sport, skiing, into the Hall of Fame. Since starting her competitive ski career 30 years ago, she has been recognized as one of the outstanding women skiers in the Far West. She was invited to the Olympic Trials tryout camp but was injured in an auto accident en route. She has won over 200 races throughout the west excelling in both the slalom and downhill and winning many combined titles. She was the Far West Ski Association Slamom champion for seven consecutive years and won the downhill title eight times and in 1967 scored a “clean sweep” - posting the fasted time of all women in all events.
