Graduate of University of Southern California where hew as also an outstanding player. Joined Kern High School staff in 1929 as Supervisor of Attendance and assistant football coach. Sheriff of Kern County 1939-1951. Organized Kern County Sheriff’s Reserves, Sherff’s Posse and Aero Squadron. President of California State SHeriff’s Association 1949. Postmaster City of Bakersfield from 1955 until death late in 1971. Secretary of Fish and Game Association 25 years. Instrumental in Bakersfield’s first summer recreational program. Special Service award by Helms Foundation 1960. Man of Year award form East Bakersfield American Legion and Jewish War Veterans. Member Hall of Fame founding Board of Directors. Wife Dorothy, daughter Linda, son Budge.
