Outstanding football player at Taft High School, Taft College and Fresno State who played seven years in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was an outside linebacker and special teams player who was a team captain for the Chiefs. His busiest year was 1993 when he started 14 games at linebacker. Entering the NFL as the seventh round draft pick of the Houston Oilers in 1989, Rogers spent that entire seasons on the Oilers practice squad, then signed with the Chiefs the following season. His NFL career ended at age 29 after numerous knee surgeries. At Taft High and Taft College, he was known as the hard-nosed player who just went out and did the job, developing his skills with a hard work ethic.
