Aisha Harrison-Maston

Athlete

Inducted 2025

According to former Bakersfield College track and field coach Pam Kelley, if Aisha Harrison-Maston had enough time, she could have excelled in any event her former coach added to her already full plate.
The Wasco High School standout turned herself into a small-town phenom to an All-American at Bakersfield College.

In 1996 at the Western State Conference meet as a freshman for the Renegades, Harrison-Maston placed second in the 100-hurdles and won both the triple and long jump titles and helped Bakersfield College place fourth at the California Community College track and field championships.

But it was the 1997 season where Harrison-Martson made her indelible mark, not only at BC, but the state community college track and field community.

Despite a groin injury after the Southern California track and field regional championship, Harrison-Matson set the school-record in the heptathlon where she won titles in the 100-meters and long and triple jumps, placed second in the 100-hurdles, third in the 200-meters and was on the 400 relay team that won the title.
Her 64 points not only helped the Renegades to a resounding conference title, the second-place team that day had 91 points and her efforts are still the highest total for one individual scored in a conference meet, male or female, in BC history.

She then went on to win the state title in the 100-hurdles and long jump, in events running simultaneously. On Day 2, she won the triple jump title and took second in the 100, helping lead BC to the first women’s track and field state championship.

After BC, Harrison-Maston competed for the University of Nebraska where she became a two-time All-American.

Harrison-Maston still holds multiple records at BC and now resides in Atlanta where she is a behavior specialist for the State of Georgia waiver program and works with those with developmental disabilities.
