After leading South High to a Valley Championship and garnering All-American honors en-route, Brent played at Arizona State where he gained 993 yards rushing in one season. He was a First Team All-Western Conference selection. After playing in the Peach Bowl and two Fiesta Bowls for the Sun Devils, he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. Brent was a fine special team player as well as an outstanding running back. In addition to running and blocking, he established a reputation as a sure-handed receiver and his pass-catching statistics rank among the leagues highest for backfield performers.
