
David Carr

Stockdale High graduate in 1997 who was the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Houston Texans in 2002 after an outstanding career at Fresno State. Carr played quarterback for 11 seasons in the NFL with the Texans, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers. He was on the Giants' Super Bowl winning team after the 2011 season. In 94 NFL games (79 starts), Carr completed 1,353 passes in 2,267 attempts for 14,452 yards and 65 touchdowns. At Fresno State from 1997-2001, Carr completed 565-of-901 passes for 7,458 yards and 65 TDs. As a senior, he threw for 4,339 yards and 46 touchdowns, the national leader in those categories, and won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award present to the nation's outstanding senior quarterback. Fresno State retired his No. 8 jersey number in 2007. Carr mentored his younger brother Derek in preparations for the 2014 NFL Draft. The Carr brothers operate Carr Elite Training Academy for Athletes in Bakersfield.
