Quarterback at University of Iowa 1902-1906. Came to Bakersfield in 1908 as mathematics teacher and coach at Kern County Union High School. Coached all sports until 1926 and continued in football until 1948, completing 40 years. Coached seven state football champions, 21 Central Section CIF champions in football; 6 Central Section CIF track champions and 3 Central Section CIF basketball champions. Passed away in 1955 at the age of 70.
