Arguably the greatest prep basketball player, regardless of gender, to come out of Kern County,
Erica McCall finished her professional career in the spring of 2023 only to begin her coaching career the next winter at Stanford.
A four-year standout at Ridgeview, the 2013 graduate averaged 20.6 points and 15.6 rebounds
during her four-year standout career for the Wolf Pack.
During high school, McCall was named to the USA Basketball U16 team in Mexico, in which that
team won the gold medal and was the first of four FIBA gold medals for McCall and the US
team. McCall was highly recruited out of high school and played all four years at Stanford, averaging 9.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in her career for the Cardinal, including a team-best 14.9 points and 9.4 boards during her sophomore season.
McCall was selected as the fifth pick of the second round (17th overall) of the 2017 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever.
McCall played five years in the WNBA for Indiana, Minnesota, Atlanta and Washington, ending in 2021.
McCall’s international career continued until that spring and began coaching as an assistant at Stanford.
