Graduate of Bakersfield High School. All-League in basketball and football. Played halfback one year at Bakersfield College. All-American selection in senior year at University of Southern California. Drafted Number one by New York Giants in 1953. Pro Bowl selection six straight season. National Football League most valuable player 1956. Holds four New York Giants records: scoring, most passes caught, most reception yardage and most touchdowns. Retired after 1953 seasons to enter television and radio. CBS Radio Sports Director upon induction.
