Gabe Woodward

Stockdale High School graduate in 1997 who won the bronze medal in the 4X100 meter freestyle relay at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Also won the bronze medal at the 1999 World University Games, and in the 2007 Pan-American Games, won a silver medal in the 400 meter freestyle relay and bronze in the 100-meter freestyle. Missed making the U.S. Olympic team in 2008 by .13 of a second in the fastest 100-meter qualifying race in history. Between 2003 and 2008, Woodward ranked in the top 50 in the world in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle events. At USC, Woodward was a four time All-American. At Stockdale, Woodward was Central Section champion three times in the 200-yard freestyle and won the 50 free his senior year when he also became the first Bakersfield swimmer in a decade to qualify for Nationals.
