Born Salinas, Calif. Attended school in Delano before moving to Bakersfield. Starred in baseball, basketball at North High in Bakersfield. Standout pitcher for Bakersfield College. Signed first baseball contract with New York Yankees and has played int he big leagues with Cleveland, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Houston, Los angles and Philadelphia. Highlight of career came on July 29, 1968 for Cincinnati when he pitched no-hitter against Phillies. Later became relief pitching specialist.
