Gerry Collis

Gerry Collis tonight becomes the fourth Bakersfield College football coach to be enshrined in the Bob Elias Hall of Fame, following charter recipient Jack Frost, Homer Beatty and Theo "Spud" harder. In 15 years as head coach of the Renegades, Collis' teams have won 112 games against 38 defeats and two ties. That record includes five Metropolitan Conference titles, three Potato Bowl wins and one Junior Rose Bowl victory. A Nevada native, Collis played football and baseball at Denver University and several seasons of pro baseball in the New York Yankees organization.
