Inducted February, 1982

An outstanding athlete, coach, sports and youth benefactor, Hang Pfister is being inducted posthumously tonight. Self-effacing and low-key about his exploits, he compiled an outstanding coaching record in tennis and basketball at Bakersfield High and Bakersfield College and became involved in all aspects of tennis here, particular those that were youth-oriented. He founded the Bakersfield Tennis Patrons. The San Francisco native once held the COP basketball scoring record and was one of the top-ranked juniors and college tennis players in the country.
