Considered by many local golfers to be the greatest golfer ever produced in Kern County. Played 12 years on the PGA tour with sixteen Top Ten finishes, including a victory at the 1969 Gardena Open and the ten other finishes in the Top Five. Was an outstanding amateur golfer before turning pro and finishing sixth in the 1967 U.S Amateur. Consistently ranked among the top 90 professional golfers. Has remained in the golf business as a golf car designer and golf instructor. Attended East High School early in his high school years before transferring to Bakersfield High, w here he graduated in 1964
