Inducted February 16, 1967

Graduate of East Bakersfield High School where he lettered four years in football, baseball and basketball. All-League in three sports as a senior. Voted outstanding senior athlete at East High and won Tyack Award as Kern County’s Oustanding Senior Athlete. Signed with Philadelphia professional baseball organization in 1957. Hit .300 and led National League in triples in 1962. Led leages in assists by an outfielder in 1962-63-64. Led league in doubles 1966. Voted to National League All-Star team in 1962, 1964 and 1965. Won 1964 game with home run.
