Katie Haller-Metcalf

Metcalf graduated from Garces High School in 1990, excelling in athletics and academics. She was a standout in volleyball, basketball and track and had the highest grade-point average in her class every year. She won the prestigious Track Award and Mayor’s Trophy her senior year. She focused on volleyball at USC where she remains the only player in school history with more than 1,500 kills and digs. Metcalf was an All-Pac-10 Conference selection three times, was a second-team All-American in 1992 and first-team All-American in 1993. She was named to the Pac-10 Academic Team three times, twice was USC’s Female Athlete of the Year, won a Woody Hayes National Scholarship Athlete Award and was a Rhodes Scholar candidate. She graduated Summa Cum Laude at USC and continued her volleyball career on the U.S. National Team in 1994, Then played two seasons of beach volleyball and played professionally in Belgium in 1996. She graduated with the highest distinction from the USC Keck School of Medicine and was the assistant chief of OB-GYN of Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City from 2012-15
