North High School graduate considered the finest women’s distance runner ever produced in Kern County. Compete in the 1980 and the 1984 U.S Olympic Trials and was an alternate on the 1980 U.S. team. Finished second in the 1980 TAC/AAU National Championships in the 1500 meters. Competed at UCLA, winning the school’s outstanding track athlete award in 1979 and outstanding cross country award in 1980. Was a 15-time South Yosemite League champion and 12-time CIF Central Section champion in cross country and track, winning state titles in the 880 in 1976 and the mile in 1979. Set a national record with a 2:10.4 at the Arcadia Invitational in 1977. Set the Central Section mile record 1977 with a 4:48.8.
