Inducted February 1969

Graduate of Delano High School, class of 1950. All-around high school athlete, lettering in football, track, baseball and basketball. Competed for University of California in 1952-53-54. Won 880 yard titles in IC4A and Pacific Coast Conference. On March 26, 1955, at Berkeley, California, established world record of 1:47.5 for 880 yards. While in the United States Air Force, became member of the 1956 United States Olympic team and placed sixth in the 800 meter run at Melbourne, Australia.
