Pat Douglas

The head basketball coach at Cal State Bakersfield for 10 years, Douglas led the Roadrunners to three Divisions II National Championships in the 1990’s. His teams compiled a 257-61 record and qualified for the NCAA Tournament all 10 seasons, winning six California Collegiate Athletic Association titles and reaching the Elite Eight seven times. In the 1992-93 season, the Roadrunners went 33-0 to win CSUB’s first national title and the first championship won by a California team since the Division II tournament began 1957. CSUB made it two straight national titles in 1993-94, then earned a third title in Douglass’ final season, 1996-97. A native of Tennessee, Douglass played for the University of the Pacific and coached six years at Eastern Montana College (now Montana State-Billings) before coming to CSUB. Douglas is now at UC Irvine, where he led his team to two Big West Conference titles and a school record 25 wins in the 2000-01 season.
