Sherilyn Doyle Curti

athlete

Inducted February, 1983

In a demanding sport requiring strength, precision and excellent hand-eye coordination, Sherilyn Doyle proved her adeptness at archery all over the country, facing the best competition from both the U.S. and abroad. Growing up in Taft, she came to the bow and arrow naturally at the age of 10, thanks to parents who were both archers. She captured two national championships as well as numerous regional, sectional and state titles. And she set a record with a perfect 60x60 score in the Las Vegas International Indoor CHampionships. Five national records are included among her achievement before she ended her career. Now a wife and mother, married to Jim Curti, she lives in Bakersfield and confines her archery to recreational weekend shoots.
